Richard Hayden believes that every Virginian deserves to live in a safe community free from fear, violence, and lawlessness. As crime continues to rise across parts of the Commonwealth, Richard is committed to restoring law and order through strong, effective policies that support law enforcement and hold criminals accountable.

Richard will oppose dangerous “soft-on-crime” policies like catch-and-release and reduced sentencing for violent offenders. He will work to strengthen penalties for repeat offenders, crack down on illegal gun crime, and support stricter measures against gangs and drug traffickers targeting our neighborhoods. He believes in protecting victims, not coddling criminals, and will ensure that justice is swift and fair.

A proud supporter of law enforcement, Richard will fight to fully fund police departments, expand training programs, and make sure our officers have the tools and respect they need to do their jobs. He also supports community-based crime prevention efforts and partnerships between local leaders, schools, and law enforcement to stop crime before it starts.

As Delegate, Richard Hayden will stand with law-abiding citizens, victims, and the brave men and women who protect our streets, not with radical activists who want to dismantle public safety.
