Hayden is now the Fairfax GOP nominee for   

Virginia Delegate -  House District 16

Richard was born in Jersey City, New Jersey and raised in Bergen County, the second youngest of seven brothers and sisters. He attended Bergen Catholic High School and was the first of his siblings to earn a college degree. Richard moved to Washington, DC in 1984 with his wife Denise in order to attend law school, earning his Juris Doctorate in 1987. They enjoyed the DC area so much they moved over to the Mount Vernon area after school and never left.

Richard is a licensed attorney in DC and Pennsylvania and the branch manager for an Acrisure affiliated title company in Kingstowne. Prior to that Richard had a small law office and real estate practice in DC for many years and was an approved agent for major title insurance companies. Richard sits on various committees for the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors and enjoys teaching continuing education to Realtors. He is also a member of the Mount Vernon-Springfield Chamber of Commerce.

Richard also serves as the President of the Mount Vernon Columbus Club, Inc. a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation affiliated with the Mount Vernon Knights of Columbus Council 5998. This Club hosts one of the largest bingo operations in Northern Virginia and has donated over $300,000.00 to charity for this past fiscal year, totaling more than $3 million over the past decade.

 

Having been a candidate before for both the House of Delegates and the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Richard cares deeply for Virginia and wants to make it the best state in the country to live, work and raise a family. 

Richard and Denise have two sons who live locally and are further blessed with a beautiful granddaughter.
